Linkedin Launches Social News Platform

Now you can keep up with all the latest industry news via Linkedin. It has been announced that the social media site has now launched its very own news platform that enables users to see what news people within their network are reading and discussing, as well as being updated with news relevant to their own industry.

Users can pick up to 22 different trending industry preferences and choose your preferred options to receive up to the minute news.

Deep Nishar, senior vice-president of product and user experience at LinkedIn, said: “Having a professional and tailored lens on news and insights is not only an efficient way to gather information for your workday, but it also arms you with the insights you need to make strategic business decisions.”

This new advancement for the social media site has seen a further development in its integration with Twitter. Tweets regarding trending news updates can be viewed in the Linkedin feed. As well as being available on the internet, this brand new service will also be accessible via the latest iPhone app.

Linked was originally launched back in 2003 and has been growing in popularity among business professionals. It claims to now have over 90 million members and a new member signing up every second.
