Canals, bicycles and web frameworks

This week two of our developers are jetting off to an international development conference held in Amsterdam, called Laracon.

The conference is spread over three days and revolves around Laravel, the open-source backend framework that First Internet has used in its new bespoke codebase. It will feature both a networking and community day with opportunities to meet other developers and web professionals, and talks and discussions from leading experts in Laravel, PHP and software engineering on the web.

Subject matter includes comprehensive data validation, test-driven development, integrating other PHP libraries into Laravel, elasticsearch and insider information on the state of the Laravel framework.

It will provide a great opportunity for our developers to further educate themselves on the Laravel framework and software design patterns and best practice, which they can then bring back and implement into First Internet’s bespoke codebase.
