As many of us are lamenting the lack of summer sun this year and are considering a late break to warmer climes, The French holiday accommodation website www.jdvholidays.com - which specialises in letting properties in the South of France - is celebrating a bumper year after an extensive website overhaul.
Joie De Vivre Holidays, a successful, highly personal, family holiday business, has been letting properties in Provence, Cote d'Azur and Languedoc Roussillon for over 15 years. After initial forays into the digital world, last August the company decided to invest more heavily into a radically redesigned website, and called on Hale-based First Internet, the new media design and solutions agency to produce a fresh new look.
Just a year after the launch of the new look site, Joie De Vivre has watched the number of sessions on its website increase by more than 68%, taking the number of monthly sessions to an impressive 7,000. Today the site receives an average of 11,500 hits every day.
Joie de Vivre director, Colin Bowles, is delighted with the success of the website, and the considerable business it has generated. Crediting its popularity with the aspirational design and ease of navigation implemented by First Internet, Colin said:
First Internet provided us with a great looking website which is simple for customers to navigate. Not only does it look fantastic, but the site includes a fully working and easy-to-use booking system so people can confirm their holiday accommodation from the comfort of their own home, whenever it suits them. Helpful added extras, like links to car hire and travel insurance sites, make it an invaluable resource.
Keen to propel Joie de Vivre to the next level, Colin is committed to keeping the website fresh and updated, to ensure a continued stream of new and repeat visitors.
After a profitable year, which has proved the importance of continued investment in the website, I'm keen to capitalise on success and forge ahead with a strategic online marketing campaign. We will be calling on First Internet to create and manage a Pay per Click campaign for us, which, along with a Search Engine Optimisation programme, should see JDV Holidays positioned on the first page of Google for at least our top three search phrases by this time next year.
Stephen Alexander, managing director of First Internet, commented: ‘'The success of jdvholidays.com can be credited to Colin's web savvy approach. To make a website an ongoing profit centre, it's vital to view it as a dynamic sales tool, rather than a static advert. Companies need to invest in marketing techniques to drive visitors to the site and keep them interested once they're there. Joie De Vivre's success is an example of the rewards that can be reaped from this app
